The United States Embassy has issued a warning about extremists planning to attack a Sheraton hotel in Lagos State.

This was contained in an email warning to Americans, a day after the second car bomb exploded in #Nyanya, #Abuja, killing at least 19 people and wounding 66.

The US warning came with no further details, save “groups associated with terrorism allegedly planned to mount an unspecified attack” on a #Sheraton hotel in Lagos.

The Sheraton chain has two locally-owned franchises in the Southwestern city with a population of about 20 million people.

Nigeria has been fighting the war against terrorism in the last 5 years, and while the stronghold of the extremists is the remote northeast, they now look to trying to cross into other parts of Africa’s biggest oil producer.
