Emeka Kennedy, and four others, have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil defence Corp for allegedly posing as a soldiers and masterminding the theft and subsequent trade of petroleum products from vandalised Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipelines at Ijedodo, in Lagos State,

The were allegedly caught driving three vehicles containing the stolen goods, some of which had been contained in 16 garri sacks which had been lined with polythene bags in order to avoid leakage.

According to Mr. Clement Adesuyi, the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, “The products are conveyed via canoes, through Ijegemo, where there is a river, down to Igando. They hide the products in garri sacks so as not to arouse suspicion. From Igando the products are then moved to waiting buyers in Alimosho, some of whom are petrol stations."
