Sports Victor Valdes Set To Join Besiktas From Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper, Victor Valdes is close to joining Turkish side, Besiktas after what seem like a miserable 2014/15 season at the Old Trafford.

The former Barcelona shotstopper, who won three champions league at the Nou Camp joined the Red Devils on his return from injury that made him stay out of action for almost a year.

The Spaniard is also reported to have reached personal agreement with the club but for the Super Lig club's manager, Senol Gunes, whose final decision will decide Valdes' fate.

The need for a reserve keeper arouse at the club when Besiktas sold their reserve goalkeeper Cenk Gonen to fierce rivals Galatasaray on Tuesday and that has freed up space in their squad for another player in the same position.

A move does look likely to go through though and if it does, it will bring Valdes' miserable stay at Old Trafford to an end.

He made just two appearances at the end of last season and was left out of the squad which went to America for pre-season, despite uncertainty about David de Gea's future at the club.

Van Gaal later claimed Valdes had refused to play for United's under-21 side and made it clear he had no future at Old Trafford. Skysports
