Sports Volleyball: Nigeria now ranked 52nd(Men) 84th (Women)

Nigeria has been ranked 52nd for the Men's team and 84th in the Women's category by the Federation of International Volleyball(FIVB) for the first half of the year.

The Men's team moved up ten places from their previous ranking of 62nd last July,to now rank 52nd in the world while the Women fell from their last position where they were ranked 70th.

Nigeria polled 10 points for the men while the women got only five points from the time the rankings was done.

The top three countries in the world are Brazil,Russia and Italy(men) with 345, 342 and 286 points respectively. Also the Brazilians topped in the women's top three,followed by USA and Japan .

Tunisia is the highest ranked African team in the men's category with 66 points and are being ranked 13th in the world.

While Kenya emerged as the highest ranked African team in the Women's category with 58 points and ranked 13th in the world.

On the continental rankings,Nigerian is sixth in the men's and eight in the women's category respectively.
