Sports Warri Wolves' Azubuike Egwuekwe Signs One Year Deal With Kuopion Palloseura

Warri Wolves defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe has joined Finnish side Kuopion Palloseura on a year deal.

The Nigeria international becomes manager Marko Rajamäki’s second top class signing following the acquisition of American Freddy Adu.

Azubuike has represented Nigeria FIFA Confederations Cup 2013, the African Nations Championship in 2014 and World Cup qualifiers.

Toppari was also involved in the Nigerian national team of Brazil at the World Cup in 2014 has a chance to renewal his contract by another year if he shines in his debut season.

“Finnish football club Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS) and Nigerian national team player Azubuike Ekwuekwe have signed a 1+1-year contract,” the club announced on their website.

“The 26-year old defender has played for Nigeria in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013, in the African Cup of Nations 2014 and in the World Cup Qualifiers 2014. He also participated at the World Cup Final Tournament in Brazil 2014.”

He will compete with Sharp Räsänen, Hamed Coulibaly, Mikko Pitkänen and Tuomas Rannankari for a chance for a regular shirt for the Savon Sanomat AreenaKuopio giants.
