The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) have thrown their weight behind the Super Eagles to defeat Argentina in their final group game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.

Nigeria will on Wednesday in Porto Alegre battle Argentina needing at least a point to qualify for the last 16 of the World Cup.

But the NFF is even looking beyond drawing the game against Argentina, adding that they would aim to win it and top group F.

"I know that many people will think it is an impossible task. For us, it is possible. The Argentines have been unconvincing in their last two games except for the brilliance of Messi. We’re totally convinced that the Eagles can beat Argentina from what we saw them play against Bosnia" Emeka Inyama, Chairman Media Committee of the NFF was quoted as saying on Vanguard Sports.

"We’re solidly behind them and have made sure that they lack nothing in the World Cup. All monies agreed with them are intact to the last game. There is no division in the team. We’ve a harmonious relationship with them and they are happy about that. The team is united and the spirit is high. The boys also know what it means to play in the World Cup and what it does to them professionally.

He further added that the team will draw inspiration from Algeria who on Sunay ended their 32-year wait to record its first win at the World Cup.

"The fantastic win by Algeria over South Korea will add as a boost to the Eagles. I’m particularly impressed with their rock-solid defence”he said.
