Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has admitted that he will; fortify his team in the January transfer window if he finds quality players.

The Gunners, whose chances of making it through to the knock out stage of the UEFA champions league are ridden with injury and the manager agrees to bolster his squad to deal with a number of injury problems.

Francis Coquelin will be out for about 12 weeks, joining fellow midfielders Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta on the sidelines.

"We are in a position where we want to do something," said Wenger, whose side visit Norwich on Sunday.

"If I find the right quality, I will do something."

The Gunners beat Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday to keep their Champions League hopes alive, three days after losing to West Brom in the Premier League.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey returned against Dinamo after a spell out with a hamstring injury, while winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could return at the weekend.

Forward Theo Walcott is also back in training and close to a comeback, but striker Danny Welbeck remains out.

Chile playmaker Alexis Sanchez injured a hamstring in midweek but Wenger said it "might not be the best moment" to rest him.

The Frenchman described Arteta's injury was "short term" but said Coquelin would be out for "much longer" - though he does not need surgery.

Wenger said: "Walcott goes through a few tests and steps but the first one was successful.

"He started running again on Tuesday and had no reaction. He has no big hurdle to get across and hopefully he will be successful." BBC
