Politics What the Boko Haram Fighters Told Me About Their Sect – Governor Kashim Shettima

Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, is arguably the most troubled state CEO currently. The insurgency in his state had already begun before he was voted into power in the 2011 governorship election, and in spite of peace moves combined with military action, Borno state is going down the sharp decline where life expectancy is concerned.

He granted Daily Trust an interview last Wednesday, where he spoke on the abduction of the Chibok girls of Government Girls Secondary School and the general state of terror in his state as a result of the barrage of Boko Haram attacks.

He explained how the abduction took place ( an abduction that is still peppered with controversy, as many believe it unlikely that 300 teenage girls were carted off noiselessly, without struggle or alarm.)

He also admitted to being unhappy as a governor.
