Metro Woman Nabbed For Selling Twins

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom State Command has arrested a woman, Ms. Regina Udo, for selling her twins.

Udo was said to have sold the twins to a Favour Chukwu who is a worker at Precious Survivor Maternity Home in Oboma, Oyingbo Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The NSCDC also nabbed 15 others involved in the crime including the clinic's driver.

According to the state Commandant, Mr. Pedro Ideba, Udo was arrested after selling the first boy for N480,000. Chukwu however, could not buy the second twin as he wanted to pay N400,000.

He said, "We told Udo to agree for N400, 000
and when Favour Chukwu arrived to buy the second boy, we arrested her. She led our men to a clinic, Precious Survivor
Maternity Home.

"We found out that the owner of the clinic also recruits young girls, whom they used as baby Factory. People go there to buy children.

"So far, we have arrested 16 persons and have handed them over to the National Agency for
Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related matters for prosecution.

"All these arrests were made with the
cooperation of other security agencies."
