As journalists across the World mark the #WorldPressFreedomDay today, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called on the federal government to drop the court case it instituted against LEADERSHIP and two of its correspondents over a publication.
This is just as the union reiterated the need for the government to put in place legislation for the protection of journalists.
National President of the union, Mallam Mohammed Garba, stated this while addressing journalists during a pen rally held at the NUJ Abuja Council Secretariat, Abuja, as part of activities to herald the day.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Media Freedom for a Better Future: Shaping the Post-2015 Development Agenda.”
