The Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Torben Gettermann, has stated that Nigeria needs to be ready to eradicate corruption mentally in order to get rid of corrupt practices.

“I am not going to say that Denmark is the least corrupt country in the world, but we have, for five years now, been number one on that index," he said on Tuesday.

“Nigerians must know that corruption is a problem that has been ingrained; so, they must know that fighting against corruption should be worked on continuously with a focus that you are going to eradicate it,” he said.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts at fighting corruption would succeed with the determination of Nigerians to desist from corrupt practices in public and private engagements.
