The US federal government is in serious danger of shutting down on Tuesday
The financial markets have taken a hit at the prospect of the shutdown of the US government and a crisis for the Italian government.

Meanwhile, in Italy, the stock market as dropped by almost 2%. Shares in London, Frankfurt and Paris have dropped 1%.

While all this is happening in the world of the financial gameplayers, the US government is under pressure to come to terms with a new spending bill before midnight today (Monday), but the political factions and divisions in the government have stalled this process.

Prime Minister of Italy, Enrico Letta will be holding a confidence vote on Wednesday.
