Zimbabwean President to give first post-election speech

Robert Mugabe, will address a Heroes' Day celebration in the capital, Harare, to commemorate those who died during the country's war of independence. This is to be President Mugabe’s first post-election speech.

Heroes' Day is Zimbabwe's proud annual celebration, when the country remembers those who died fighting for independence in 1980.

The Movement for Democratic Change ( MDC) is expected to boycott the event in protest at what it says was massive vote rigging by Zanu-PF.

President Mugabe is yet to be sworn in as the duly elected president of Zimbabwe.
