Following on the Zimbabwe polls which were set to be released Saturday, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared the election credible and fair.

The Mugabe party is claiming a victory while the opposition is in an uproar, holding emergency meetings over what it described as ‘sham’ polls.

Olusegun Obasanjo, as the African Union’s top poll adviser described the conduction of the election as “peaceful, orderly, free and fair”.

The South African Development Community (SADC), however, has refrained from calling the election ‘fair’, saying that would be jumping to a conclusion, but they also agreed that the elections were ‘free and peaceful’.
