Operatives from the Ondo State Police Command apprehended five suspected kidnappers who were found asleep after abducting a pastor's wife and two others. The suspects, including Garuba Mumuni, Yusuf Tale, Kabiru Muhammed, Shaibu Umar, and Adamu Mohammed, reportedly dozed off due to the effects of the hard drugs they had consumed.

According to police reports, the victims managed to escape from their captors on separate occasions when the kidnappers fell asleep after consuming narcotics. The incidents occurred during an abduction at the church where the pastor's wife and a church member were taken, as well as during a separate abduction of an individual picking snails on a farm.

Following diligent work by the Ofosu Division, the suspects were identified and arrested based on intelligence gathered. The victims positively identified the arrested individuals as part of the gang responsible for their abduction.

Commissioner of Police Abayomi Oladipo affirmed that the suspects would face legal proceedings and be brought to court to answer for their crimes. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in combating kidnapping activities in the state, demonstrating the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts in ensuring the safety and security of residents.
