Tigran Gambaryan, a detained executive of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has taken a bold step by filing a lawsuit against National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Gambaryan's legal action, represented by lawyer Olujoke Aliyu from Aluko and Oyebode Law Firm, seeks to address alleged violations of his fundamental rights. Alongside Nadeem Anjarwalla, Binance's Africa regional manager who recently escaped custody, Gambaryan filed a suit against the Office of NSA and EFCC, demanding relief and constitutional justice.

Gambaryan asserts that his detention and confiscation of his international passport breach constitutional provisions on personal liberty. He urges the court to order his immediate release and the return of his passport, while also seeking an injunction against further detention related to Binance investigations. The lawsuit signifies a significant legal battle amid escalating tensions between cryptocurrency firms and Nigerian regulatory bodies.

Despite the absence of representation by the respondents in court, the case has been adjourned to April 8 for further proceedings, highlighting the complexities surrounding the situation.
