In a public call for accountability, former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, urged his Kogi State counterpart, Yahaya Bello, to emerge from hiding and address the allegations against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Speaking at a church thanksgiving service in Makurdi to commemorate his 63rd birthday, Ortom emphasized the importance of transparency and urged Bello not to tarnish the reputation of former governors by evading legal proceedings. Ortom's message, delivered amidst expressions of gratitude for his tenure, underscored the need for leaders to be accountable for their actions.
He encouraged Bello to cooperate with the EFCC's inquiries, stressing the significance of upholding the rule of law. Notably, Ortom's remarks received support from prominent figures, including former Attorney General Michael Aondoakaa and Senator Abba Moro, who commended his commitment to the security and development of Benue State.
