One person was allegedly killed while several others sustained injuries in a fracas that broke out during a film shooting incident at Tanke Area of Ilorin on Monday evening.

A free for all ensued when the suspected hoodlums accosted a team of film producing company.

An eyewitness, Miss Halima Ibrahim, a tailor, said the film company were in the area to shoot a scene of a new movie when the hoodlums demanded for land charges, called ‘owo ile'.

Ibrahim said the company refused and hoodlums destroyed all the gadgets used in the firm production.

When the police tried to intervene, some youths suspected to be street urchins fought the police.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Ambrose Aisabo, confirmed the incident on Tuesday

Aisabo said one of the suspects, who wielded cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, died on the spot when he was hit by the police bullet. He noted that his men had no choice than to release the shot when the atmosphere became tense.

The commissioner said the policemen were overpowered by the hoodlums and this necessitated reinforcement by the police command.

Aisabo said the command would leave no stones unturned in ensuring relative peace in the state.
