On Friday, Benue state governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam and his deputy, Chief Steven Lawani escaped death in an auto crash on Makurdi-Gboko Road which left 7 persons injured.
THE SUN reported that the incident which happened at 11:20am yesterday occurred when a driver of a station wagon car, conveying passengers to Makurdi on top speed wanted to overtake other vehicles ahead of him, but realizing that it was too late to apply his brakes rammed into the governor’s convoy in the opposite direction.
The crash pushed Governor Suswam's into a nearby bush but the occupants escaped unharmed.
Today is Governor Suswam's 50th birthday celebration.
