Reports have emerged that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is waiting for the presentation of the 2014 budget by President Goodluck Jonathan before they end the strike.
An anonymous source from ASUU who spoke with BusinessDay said, "Once the next budget contains a section that addresses our demands, ASUU members would have no option than to go back to classes” said one of the striking lecturers".
Considering recent postponements in the presentation of the 2014 budget to the Nigerian National Assembly, ASUU may have to wait for a long time.
