A Boko haram suicide bomber was nabbed by Nigerian troops in Gombe state, the Nigerian Defence HQ has reported.
Spokesperson Major-General Chris Olukolade has said that the suicide bomber had targeted soldiers at a stop-and-search duty in Gombe, but he failed at detonating his explosive device after he slammed his vehicle into a military checkpoint in Bajoga LGA.
“His attempt to escape also failed as he was brought down by vigilant soldiers when he tried to flee after hitting a military Armoured Personnel Carrier with his IED-laden Honda car,” said Chris Olukolade.
The undetonated bombs has now been taken to the police.
