Sports Commonwealth Games update: Team Nigeria move up to 9th position

Team Nigeria have now climbed up to ninth on the medals table at the ongoing 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow,Scotland.

With a total of six medals: 2gold,3silver and 1bronze Nigeria is steadily climbing up the table,slightly behind Wales who are eight on the log,and above Kenya who are in tenth position.

Nigeria continued its dominance in the Weightlifting event,amassing two more medals from the sport on Sunday.

Oluwatoyin Adesanmi clinched a gold medal while Obioma Oboli won a silver medal as both Nigerian lifters took first and second position respectively in the Women's 63kg event .

All of Nigeria's medals at the Games so far,have all come in the Weightlifting event,with the women accounting for five of them.

Australia is the top performing country at the Games,occupying the top spot with 67 medals,while England trail in second with a total of 55 medals won.
