Sports Commonwealth Games update: Two victories for Nigeria in Table Tennis

Nigeria got off to winning start at the 2014 Commonwealth Games with the Table tennis teams recording wins in their games on Thursday.

They are the first Nigerian athletes in action at the competition,and both the Men's and Women's teams did not disappoint.

In a group game at the event,the Nigerian trio: of Edem Offiong, Ganiat and Rashidat Ogundele powered past their African counterparts,Kenya who they defeated 3-0 with each of the Nigerian players winning all their three matches in the contest.

It was the same in Men's category with Aruna Quadri,Ojo Onaolapo and veteran Segun Toriola equally following in the same pattern to win all three games in their match against Bangladesh.

The win qualified them into the next round of the competition,and they will be hoping to finish in the medal's zone in any of the categories.
