The Ekiti State Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Mr Dele Akingbade, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday said that it would soon destroy a 600-acre Indian hemp farm in the state.

He said the weed farm was discovered on July 24 at Ode-Ekiti in Gbonyin LGA after being tipped off by concerned members of the public.

According to him, four men caught on the farm confessed that they were hired on N1,000 daily to provide security at the farm.
Akingbade said the financial value of the farm is still being calculated and described it as the largest individually owned hemp farm in Ekiti.
