Popular Ijaw Chieftain, Chief Edwin Clark has disclosed that the late Rt. Hon Young Igbhrude and late Senator Pius Ewherido were those who provided evidence that led to former Delta Governor, James Ibori's indictment and subsequent imprisonment.

Chief Clark revealed that it was late Rt. Hon Young Igbhrude and late Senator Pius Ewherido former members and principle officers in the Delta State House of Assembly, from 1999-2007, who came to him with documents on the fictitious supplementary budget prepared by Chief Ibori.

He stated this when a PDP Governorship aspirant, Obaisi (Barr) Ovie Omo-Agege paid him a consultative visit at his Kiagbodo home, noting that Delta state has passed the stage when only one individual will endorse a governor.

Chief Clark stated further that the two former lawmakers said they’ll defend their allegations. Knowing the enormity of the issue, he was prompted to take them to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who was the President then, for necessary action.

According to him, the papers were handed over to the then EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu. “Ribadu then came and took the papers and handed them over to the present Chairman Lamorde who was then Director of Operations in Lagos for investigations”.
