A victim of gang rape simply identified as Janet, has committed suicide in Amarata area of Yenagoa local government area, Bayelsa State.
The deceased, aged 18, a native of Oduali community in Abus/Odua local government area, Rivers State, was allegedly gang raped by three unidentified boys in the area.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the deceased who could not face the shame and stigma the incident attracted, decided to take her life.
According to family sources, the late Janet was last week reportedly gang-raped at gun point by three boys who forced her into an uncompleted building while she was running an errand for her older sister.
