Sports Ghana sacks their coach Kwesi Appiah

Kwesi Appiah has been fired as the Black Stars national team manager by the Ghanaian Football Association(GFA).

Appiah today(Friday) parted company with the GFA following a mutual consent by both parties for him to step down.

The former Black Stars player has not had a smooth ride in charge of the Black Stars, especially following a disastrous World Cup campaign in Brazil that ended in a ridicule for Ghana.

The GFA said that Appiah's replacement will announced before they play their next 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers against Ghana.

It is understood that former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is the favourite to replace Appiah.

Appiah was in charge of Ghana for their last two Nations Cup qualifiers against Uganda and Togo,he drew the first game at home and won the away game against Togo on Wednesday.

A government inquiry is currently probing the disgraceful showing of the Black Stars in Brazil, after players threatened to down tools unless they were paid their match allowances, resulting in $3million being airlifted to settle the players.
