Super Eagles invitee, Joel Obi has been declared injured and he's expected to be out of action for a week.

This was disclosed by his club, Torino saying he had over-stressed one of the muscles on his left thigh during a medical test on Thursday after persisting symptoms of painful flexor muscle of the left thigh.

According to a statement on Torino's official website, Obi is suffering from overload on the leg: "MRI he underwent Obi showed an overuse the semitendinosus muscle of the left thigh. Recovery times are currently estimated at approximately 5-7 days."

The midfielder joins Al Ain striker, Emmanuel Emenike, who also received a knock at his Dubai club after helping them to clinch UAE Super Cup.

Their failure to recover in time may force Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh invite some other players to replace them.
