Ibrahim Yahaya, a self confessed drug addict, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for attempted murder. The suspect was said to have caused bodily injury to one Suruju Yakubu by assaulting him with a broken bottle. The victim was beaten and stabbed by the accused.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and the police arrested the suspect. At the Ebute Meta Magistrate court, the accused pleaded guilty to the offences read to him, which included one count of unruly conduct and one count of attempted murder.
The Magistrate court convicted the accused of both charges and thereafter sentences him to three years imprisonment without the option of fine.
