Floyd Mayweather has refused a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, branding him a coward and a sore loser.

Mayweather was reportedly excited for a rematch after beating Pacquiao but he has retracted that claim in an astonishing attack on his rival.

"I will fight him in a year after his surgery," Mayweather is reported to have told journalist Stephen A. Smith in a text message. That offer, though, seems to have disappeared.

"Did I text Stephen A. Smith and say I will fight [Pacquiao] again? Yeah, but I changed my mind," Mayweather told Showtime in an interview set to be broadcast this weekend.

"At this particular time, no [I don't want a rematch] because he's a sore loser and he's a coward... If you lost, accept the loss and say, 'Mayweather, you were the better fighter.'

"Excuses, excuses, excuses," said Mayweather. "I'm not going to buy into the bull**** and I don’t want the public to buy into the bul****. He lost. He knows he lost. I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this.
