While speculations are rife as to the outcome of President Jonathan's secret meeting with Atiku Abubakar (with Sahara Reporters suggesting that the president may be asking Atiku to buy in on his alleged interim government idea), Atiku Abubakar has admitted to being asked to join the Peoples Democratic Party.
Atiku, saying the topic of election scuttling never came up in his talk with the President, said that Jonathan did try to get him to join the PDP.
He said he rejected the invitation immediately.
He said they also discussed the Boko Haram war and the coming elections.
