Sports Nigeria Remain 53rd On The Lastest FIFA Rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria maintained their 53rd position on the latest FIFA ranking which was released on Thursday.

The 2013 African champions are just one step behind Egypt, who are in the same African Cup of Nations qualifiers group with Nigeria.

The Sunday Oliseh-led team are also ranked ninth on the African continent behind the following countries; Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Congo, Cameroon and Egypt.

Algeria remain at the summit of African football with 955 points which put them in the 19th position in the world while African champions Cote d’Ivoire are second in Africa and ranked 21st in the world.

Ghana stay third on the continent after amassing 827 points which places them in the 27th spot in the world.

Argentina still ranks number one followed by Belgium while 2014 world cup champions, Germany have been demoted to the third position while Chile, Wales and England occupy the 8th, 9th and 10th position respectively.

The highest ranking held by Chile in their history.

The next Fifa/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on October 1, 2015.
