The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cancelled the November 1 ward congresses conducted in Lagos, Cross River and Oyo.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Olisa Metuh, the party's National Publicity Secretary, in Abuja on Friday.

According to the statement fresh ward congresses would be conducted in the three states on Monday, November 24.

Metuh also said that the party's, NWC had reviewed the state of the party in Adamawa and Ebonyi. He said that the party had rescinded the dissolution Executives Committees in Adamawa and Ebonyi.

The spokesman said that the party affirmed the suspension Adamawa Chairman of the party, Mr Joel Madaki, for one month.

The rescinding of the dissolution, he said, followed appeals and interventions by stakeholders as well as the remorse demonstrated by the executives.

He said that NWC had, therefore, recalled the earlier caretaker committees, set up for Adamawa and Ebonyi chapters.

Metuh said the Adamawa Deputy Chairman of the party, Alhaji Jingi Rufai, would act as its chairman, while Mr Fatai Ornah would serve as the Acting Secretary.

He said that Mr Joseph Onwe would becomes Acting Chairman in Ebonyi, while Mr Simon Anyigor, would serve as Acting Secretary.

"In the case of Cross River, all suspensions by the state chapter have been lifted,’’ he said.

Metuh said that by this development, all members of the party in the state were now free to participate in all party activities, including its congresses.
