BORNO, NIGERIA - No less than 75 Boko Haram terrorists have been killed by Nigerian soldiers on Wednesday, Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) staff have told Sahara Reporters.

According to the online journal, more than 100 Boko Haram fighters attacked Bulaburin village, attacking the military men who were escorting PHCN staff to repair their power installations that the selfsame insurgents had destoyed in Damboa six months ago.

The terrorists sprang out of their Hilux vehicles and motorcycles, but the military was not to be taken down by the element of surprise.

A PHCN staff says the soldiers dispatched no less than 75 of the terrorists to the afterlife: "I am happy today because it would have been a black day for us at Bulaburin. We went to repair Maiduguri electrical infrastructure which had been shut down by militants since July as we were working we started hearing sporadic gun shots, so the troops fought back. However, the intense fight affected our vehicles; we drove to Maiduguri on flat tyres."

A security source said: "Our soldiers climbed the telecom mast to see them, and behold they were coming in large numbers in Hilux pick up vans, motorcycles and cars. The soldiers waited for them, and when they came, they attacked them immediately."
