According to a report in PUNCH newspaper, pickpockets had a field day at the burial of late Senator Uche Chukwumerije. The pickpockets descended on unsuspecting mourners, dispossessing them of their phones, money and other precious items.
An Abia based journalist and a friend the late Senator was said to have been dispossessed of his expensive android phone. Another woman also reportedly lost N15, 000 to the hoodlums. Senator Chukwumerije, a serving Senator died of cancer and was buried in his home country in Abia State on Friday.
