Sports Premier League: Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini vows to fight despite Sunderland draw -Skysports

Manuel Pellegrini admitted defeat by Liverpool lingered in Manchester City's minds as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium.

The 2012 Premier League champions lost 3-2 to leaders Liverpool on Sunday and their title hopes were heavily dented on Wednesday as they drew their first of two games in hand on their rivals.

City made a flying start as Fernandinho broke the deadlock in the second minute, only for a second-half brace from Connor Wickham to hand the advantage to Sunderland.

It's over for Pellegrini. He should start preparing for next season, he already got the League cup.

City boast a strong squad, but they are weak when it matters most. If Pellegrini can fix this bug, then city would lift more than the league cup next season.

Yes it is over, but never say never....

True. But he'll be wasting his time to think that. Chelsea, more importantly Mourinho, won't allow that, and Rodgers nor Gerrard will want to let go of the trophy in their grasp.

The Liverpool vs Chelsea fixture coming up next weekend will be a battle to the death. I won't be surprised if Ramirez brought a stileto to the football pitch. :D
