Sports President Goodluck Jonathan congratulates Nigeria's Falconets

President Goodluck Jonathan has praised the Falconets for their feat in qualifying for the final of the 2014 FIFA under-20 Women's World Cup taking place in Canada.

The Nigerian ladies defeated Korea DPR on Wednesday to book a rematch against Germany in Sunday's final.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,Reuben Abati, the President praised the Falconets for their scintillating display that earned them a 6-2 victory in Wednesday’s semi-final encounter with North Korea as well as their very commendable performance in earlier matches.

Jonathan further urged the Falconets to put in their best effort to win the tournament for Nigeria and Africa for the first time in the history of the competition.

Nigeria will be making a second appearance in the final of this competition,having now made it four successive appearances in the semifinals.
