Sports Raheem Sterling's agent responsible for contract delays- Liverpool coach

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Raheem Sterling's agent is delaying the player from signing a new contract with the club.

The England international is yet to sign a new contract with the club, and there are speculations linking him with a move away from the club.

Sterling scored twice to help Liverpool to a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth, further underlining his importance for the Reds.

"His contract situation is nothing to do with him. His representatives are the ones working with the club. He is, as you can see, happy and enjoying his football. At Old Trafford he was unfortunate not to score and in that role he plays, you think of Alexis Sanchez when he plays for Arsenal,” Rodgers told Sky Sports.

"He can play across the front line. His best position is on the left, dipping inside, making runs in behind, creating one-on-ones. I put him in the position because I believe he can play in it. He played there in the youth team at Liverpool and he has the quality to do it,” said the Liverpool boss.
