A video emerged on Monday implicating Mrs Aisha Al-Hassan, Nigeria’s minister of women affairs, showing her saying (in hausa language) that she controls the decisions of the judiciary in Taraba state.
The minister was reported to have said that as one with authority at the top, the All progressives Congress (APC) has the power to swing decisions from the Supreme Courts in their favour.
This was following the victory of most governorship candidates of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Supreme Court in the past two weeks.
According to a Naij.com’s in house interpreter, although Al-yassan was livid about the judgment swinging in a particular direction, she told her listeners that she leaves the final judgment to God, whether they win at the Supreme Court or not.
“Musodiq or what’s his name? He listed 17 Court of Appeal judgments and said one party that had issues in the primaries would be favoured with the ruling,” was what she said, adding that whether they won at the judiciary or not, God has the final say.
