Sports Tanzania Can Hurt Super Eagles- Head Coach

Taifa Stars of Tanzania head coach, Charles Mkwasa, has disclosed that his are battle ready for Nigeria in their September 5 Afriican Cup of Nations qualifiers in Dar Es Salam.

Mkwasa, who embarked on a foreign to tour with his players to get them ready for the Super Eagles admitted that the odds favour Nigeria to win the encounter, but also insisted that his boys can still hurt the Sunday Oliseh's men.

“Exercises are done here to build the players’ stamina,” he told the Tanzania Football Federation’s website.

“You can see they are playing with power all the time, they throttle and attack together, this is a good sign of youth towards the game against Nigeria.”

“Our opponents are under more pressure than us. In football, anything can happen,” Mkwasa told the Daily News.”

“We are not under much pressure; we can spring a surprise in the match. My players are responding well to training and it’s my belief that nothing is impossible.”

“A home win will be very important for us because we need to keep our hopes alive. So, it’s important for the fans to come out in large numbers and give their support to the team.”

Tanzania have not qualified for the AFCON in 35 years and are currently at the bottom of Group G while Nigeria are second behind Egypt on goals difference. Punch
