Nigeria's Super Eagles couldn't find the back of the net in their first AFCON 2017 qualifying match against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

Wolverhampton Wanderer's Carl Ikeme who made his Super Eagles’ debut was impressive on several occasions denying the Taifa Stars a chance to take maximum points.

He made an amazing save in the 67th minute when he denied Thomas Ulimwengu with a long stretch before scrambling to Mrisho Ngassa’s follow-up around the post, with both shots coming from inside the six-yard box.

Ahmed Musa had a chance to score following an impressive build up but his shot was way off the target.

Without leading lights Odion Ighalo, Victor Moses and Gbolahan Salami, Sunday Oliseh’s men failed to break down Boniface Mkwasa’s well-drilled hosts who were fueled by a scanty crowd that generated a tremendous atmosphere.
