Sports Uche Nwofor terminates contract with relegated VVV Venlo

Dutch club VVV Venlo has announced that they have reached an agreement with the Super Eagles striker Uche Nwofor to terminate his contract with the club.

VVV announced on Thursday that they have reached an agreement with the Nigerian player to part ways on a mutual consent.

“VVV-Venlo and Uche Nwofor have spoken in recent weeks with each other and the player has indicated that he would like to play at a higher level,” disclosed the Dutch club.

“The two parties on September 1 decided to award the player an exit so he can play at another club as a next step in his career.He (Uche Nwofor) was an important player for us, but we understand his position. He has National team and personal goals he wants to achieve.”

“We thank him for his time at the club and wish him all the best with his new club.we are confident that he has a great future ahead.” the club expressed.

The Former Enugu Rangers player who joined the Eredivisie side in 2011 signed a loan deal with another Dutch side Heerenveen last season after his club were relegated.

Uche is currently with the Super Eagles team preparing for the qualifiers against Congo and South Africa,and has revealed that he's close to joining another club in Belgium.
