The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has tasked the All Progressives Congress (APC) to come out clean and explain to Nigerians, their connections with the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta
(MEND).

READ: Nigeria: Militant Group 'MEND' Endorses Buhari

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Wednesday said while the onus lies on the APC to choose those to work with in their quest for power, “the explanation has become necessary following the unsavory public reactions and concerns trailing the statement by MEND backing their Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

“What exactly does APC have in common with MEND? Why do they want to resurrect it? Nigerians want to know.

Wondering when Boko haram terrorist will endorse Buhari, the PDP ASKED, ''Are we also expecting a similar statement from insurgents in the north, who initially named General Buhari to lead the dialogue between them and the Federal Government?

“Nigerians are indeed worried by these developments. We therefore urge the APC to come out clean and explain to the citizens what they have in common with these groups, especially given the statement by their flag bearer, after the 2011 elections, that the ‘dogs and baboons will all be soaked in blood”.

1. Major General Muhammadu Buhari never said he will make Nigeria ungovernable in 2011 in any public format

2. It was a PDP politician, Alhaji Lawal Kaita who actually said Nigeria would be ungovernable if Jonathan became president in 2011.

3. It was Jonathan’s media spokesman, Reuben Abati who sat down and largely concocted the slanderous libel against Buhari’s name in April 2011.

4. General Muhammadu Buhari took Reuben Abati to court for damaging his name.

5. The Jonathan Presidency begged Major General Buhari to settle the case with Reuben Abati and the Guardian out of court.

6. General Buhari obliged and settled out of court. Reuben Abati with The Guardian published an unreserved apology to Buhari in the Guardian of 11th July, 2013.

7. Late General Azazi referred to the PDP “ungovernable” crises and anger that did actually lead to Boko Haram terror franchise hired by the PDP.

The political manipulations are getting really tedious. Today - for the third time - President Jonathan said that his second term ambition isn't worth the bloodshed of any Nigerian. Interesting, right? He said it thrice.

Meanwhile, the PDP is facilitating the idea that Buhari is going to slaughter Nigerians if he loses on February 14, 2015.

The truth is, the entire idea of a democracy is compromised if we are being indirectly coerced into voting because our lives will be in danger if we choose someone else.

It is now our duty to check the facts. It will be difficult - granted that the media is largely under the sway of one political party or the other - but once we realize that we may be currently brainwashed by a massive proaganda machine, we'd begin to feel the imperative to verify information ourselves.
