On Saturday, Boko Haram terrorists reportedly set free 192 out of the 218 people abducted at Katarko town, Gujba local government area of Yobe state; PM NEWS reports.

A community leader confirmed the release to AFP correspondent. He said, ''Boko Haram have released 192 of our women they kidnapped early this month,” Goni Mari, a Katarko community leader told AFP from Damaturu. They brought them in two batches in four trucks and dropped them at Girbuwa village, eight kilometres from Damaturu, from where we conveyed them to the city and they were taken into government custody''

Narrating how they earned their freedom, one of the captives, Malama Ayisha told DAILY TRUST that the insurgents gathered all of them and asked these to form two groups, saying those who wanted to stay with them should take one side and those who not interested should go to the other.

''Many of us refused to accept their offer. The leader ordered that we should be taken out of the territory so that we could join the land of unbelievers. They took us to Wuron Yinwa village before one herdsman led us to where we got a lorry driver that conveyed us to Gazargana village, where we finally met our relatives''.
