The Court of Appeal in Abuja has nullified Elisha Abbo's election as the senator representing Adamawa north district and declared Amos Yohanna, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the rightful winner of the senatorial election.

Yohanna had challenged Abbo's election, citing corrupt practices and non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2022. He alleged overvoting, false entries, and the alteration and cancellation of votes in various polling units, some of which were not signed by the presiding officers.

The three-member panel of the tribunal initially dismissed Yohanna's petition, but he appealed the decision. The Court of Appeal's judgment upheld Yohanna's appeal and set aside the tribunal's verdict, declaring him the duly elected senator for Adamawa north. This ruling underscores the importance of adherence to electoral regulations and standards in ensuring the integrity of elections.
