In a recent appearance on Arise Television, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy National Chairman, Chief Olabode George, delivered a heartfelt appeal to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, urging him to reconsider his presidential ambitions in 2027. George emphasized the need for a generational shift in Nigerian politics, advocating for younger, energetically-driven leaders to take the reins.

George, who highlighted Atiku's age of 81 by 2027, stressed the importance of allowing the next generation to play a more active role in steering the country's future. Drawing attention to Atiku's significant role as the PDP's standard-bearer in the past two presidential elections, George suggested that, at 81, Atiku may be too aged to effectively govern the nation.

During the interview, George articulated his perspective, stating, "Atiku should give room for younger Nigerians, who still have the energy and the brain to develop the country." He further proposed a mentoring role for Atiku, envisioning him as a guiding figure rather than a front-line political contender.
