During Friday prayers at Anguwar Makera in Kaduna State, at least two worshippers were killed by bandits around 2 pm, with others being abducted. The assailants opened fire on the Juma'at Mosque attendees, causing panic and forcing survivors to flee.

Community leader Hudu Kwasakwasa confirmed the incident and revealed that the victims, killed during the second raka'at of the salat, have been buried. He highlighted the urgency for authorities' intervention, emphasizing that bandits continue to raid communities with impunity.

This attack follows a recent abduction of nine people in the same area. The incident occurred less than 24 hours after bandits kidnapped 287 students in the nearby Chikun Local Government Area.

As of now, the State Government and the Police Command are yet to respond to the mosque attack, with efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer proving unsuccessful.

Local communities appeal for swift action to address the escalating insecurity in the region.
