The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest of Chinaza Phillip, a notorious kidnapper in Abuja.The arrest took place in Kaduna as Phillip and his accomplices were en route to Kano with their victim, Segun Akinyemi, an Abuja resident abducted the previous day.
A confrontation between Phillip's men and the police resulted in gunfire, leading to the successful rescue of Akinyemi.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, ASP Mansir Hassan, explained that the operation was initiated based on a distress call, and the kidnappers were intercepted during their journey.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike announced the arrest of some informants linked to kidnappers during a town hall meeting, expressing determination to pursue both criminals and their collaborators.
