Legislative aides from the ninth National Assembly, numbering 280, are urging President Bola Tinubu, the Independent Corrupt Practices & Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to help recover their 15 months of unpaid salaries from the National Assembly management.

Having left their roles in June 2023, the workers highlight that despite serving as legislative aides for two years, they are owed payment for 15 out of the 24 months.

Efforts to address this issue through legitimate channels have reportedly been ignored by the National Assembly management.

The affected staff, through conveners Sulaiman Abbas and Joseph Isah, are now resorting to fasting and prayers, seeking divine intervention to touch the hearts of the National Assembly Clerk and present Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
