Former President Goodluck Jonathan has referred to himself as a "roving ambassador." He made this statement during a media interaction after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Jonathan called for unity among political leaders and former presidents to alleviate the suffering of the citizens. He emphasized the importance of political leaders working together to reduce tension in the country.

During the discussion, Jonathan expressed his congratulations to President Tinubu on his recent Supreme Court victory. He mentioned his involvement in various regional, continental, and international assignments aimed at promoting peace in West Africa and Africa as a whole.

Jonathan's visit to President Tinubu had been planned earlier, but it coincided with the Supreme Court's recent judgment. He highlighted the need for Nigeria to play a leading role in Africa and emphasized the tradition of former presidents briefing the current president on their foreign programs.

He emphasized that his efforts were aimed at moving Nigeria, ECOWAS, and the African continent forward. Jonathan also underscored the importance of national unity and moving beyond electoral politics now that the elections are over
